My Home/Your Home:
Dave Scott, 2005

Two artists in two different countries set up cassette tape recorders to record the natural sounds inside their home, preferably using the same type of room (living room, kitchen, or whatever).

At a predetermined time on a certain day (adjusting for time differences) each artist records the sound of their room, making no effort to do anything special or out of the ordinary. They just let the tape recorders record the natural ambiance of the room along with any sounds which naturally occur, no matter what the sounds may be.

After recording the cassettes, each artist mails their tape to the other artist.

At another predetermined time on a certain day (adjusting for time differences) each artist plays the tape of the other artist. In this way, an exchange of aural environments takes place. One artist's aural environment is replaced by that of the other artist located in another country.
