The Mothman's Photographer:
The Work of an Artist Touched by the Prophecies of the Infamous Mothman:
Andy Colvin, 2007
Updated book
review from Amazon.com:
"Spurred in 2001 by the realization that the 9/11 attacks were
accurately predicted--in 1967--by a childhood friend who was seeing
Mothman, Seattle photographer Andrew Colvin embarked on a massive
five-year project to document his experiences growing up in West Virginia.
During this period, Colvin produced a 32-hr. documentary video series
featuring interviews with nearly 50 paranormal witnesses and experts.
Colvin also produced over 1200 pages of related transcripts and notes,
and over seven thousand photographic images. He was interviewed for
17 hrs. on the conspiracy radio show "From the Grassy Knoll,"
becoming their most popular guest for the 2006 year. The Mothman's
Photographer photo book contains nearly 300 of Colvin's recent images.
There are also photos, sculptures, and paintings from as far back
as the 1960's and 70's, containing eerie, synchronistic overtones
and symbolisms. Tying all of this together are brief descriptions
of many photos, an artist's statement, and a forward by Dave Scott,
curator for the Cincinnati Gallery of Conceptual Art. Since 2001,
Colvin has been known mostly for his theory that Mothman was once
revered worldwide as a crime-fighting deity (who sends visions, dreams,
and messages to ordinary humans). This collection takes his thesis
to a deeper level."
